How does a FUE beard transplant work?
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) hair transplant is one of Este’s most popular methods of beard hair transplantation in New York because it delivers permanent results and is outstandingly successful. Basically a facial hair FUE treatment will boost hair growth by replacing old follicles with new follicles that are able to grow hair on your face.
What happens is hair is taken from a stable zone (also called the donor site) on your body (e.g., back or sides of the head) and transplanted to the treatment area you wish to improve with new hair growth. If you are bald or balding, another donor site like the chest may be able to provide hair for transplanting. This treatment involves minimally invasive surgery with no downtime. Depending on the size of the facial area being treated, a FUE treatment can take anywhere from three to nine hours. How long it takes will depend on the number of hairs needed for the treatment area (i.e., chin, jawline, upper lip…). This is not a procedure to rush, as each hair is implanted to grow at the correct angle to achieve the highest density and volume of hair once the surgery is complete.
